no log if within 100 mile radius of home terminal, any further and you need a log

thank you for the answer

You do not need a log book within 100 "air miles" of your terminal. However you still have to have a signed schedule 1 inspection sheet as well as a punch card with your start time stamp on it. Even though you are not keeping a log you are still required by law to follow the same laws and procedures To stay with in compliance
Pmracing and chopper103in Thank this. -
I believe "100 airmiles " is about 107 ground miles..... its been a while I think I am right.

It is certainly within that range. It is a good thing that the FMCA Specifies that its air miles and not just miles Otherwise DOT Could put you out of service if you put over a hundred miles on the odometer in the day. Even if you were just driving around the block for 2 hours.
