who determines the 11-14?sounds like you can get around the truth a bit to your advantage.Do you log when you start and stop the whole way through? like even for fuel?I was sent a web page of regulations and will study but Im sure It will also raise questions too.

that qualcomm determines your 11-14. you log as you do it and you'll stay out of trouble as long as you do it legally. you log everything over 7 minutes including fuel which is usually marked as 15-30 minutes. it is a huge fine by dot if your caught falsifing logs. and the company will look down on it.

ok,so your qualcomm is what you log into.Thats the "paperless" ive been reading about.so you stop for gas,you log it in,you log back when you are hitting the road again etc.It has to add to 11 hrs a day.Right so far?Next, wheres the 14 come from then?Is that when you stop and deal with the drop off/pick up points? Then after that you log off for the day and have to stay off for 10.Am I close?

no the qualcomm is what connects your truck to the companies computer. you still have to do a log book for yourself and anybody that wants to see it. werner is the only one i know of that does paperless logs. here it is in a nutshell, 24 hr day, 14 hrs total work time and hopefully get 11 hrs drive time. it doesn't always happen that you drive 11 hrs. the 14 can/wil run out on you some days. time is wasted at shippers/recievers. after you do 14 you have to take 10 off.

so,the qualcomm just tracks your actual time moving? You dont have to log anything in it?if Im right here, will dispatcher(qualcom) remind you when you are running out of time?

no all the qualcomm is, it's a thing to commuicate betwwen you and your dispatcher, will give you directions (don't depend on these), show you the time, and has a gps navigational system that tells the company where that truck is and if it's moving or not. it's up to you to know when your time is up, if you go over your 14 your dispatcher will let you know the next day. the best way to do it until you know the deal is to mark the time you start (say 6am) then put a mark at the 8pm so you know you have to be done working that day at that time.

your welcome. hope i was some kind of help to you. logs are easy so don't stress over them. there is so much more to worry about out there like safety and all the four wheelers.
