log books

    howdy i would love to get into trucking but have one question,are the log books that hard to figure out . i have read some horror stories on keeping your log book strtaight,and i am not to good on the math side of things
    any help i can get so i can make up my mind would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    Logs are easy. You just have a couple of rules that you need to learn plus get the hang of filling a log book out, but as far as math it isn’t Algebra. It’s adding and subtracting and being able to tell time. If elementary math is too hard for one to do then one can use a calculator.

    If you have comman sense and can manage 2+2= and 2-2= then logs are np. If not then you'll probably end up has one of those horror stories.

    Probably the biggest problem comes from drivers that try to "argue" the law with an LOE.

    And even IF you have problems with 2+2 (yeah, I've known drivers like that - can't think of any other reason they got the count wrong on my delivery), there are options. One of the ones most commonly suggested on this board is called Driver's Daily Log.

    Just takes a computer...

    If you work for one of the increasingly rare companies that won't accept the printout logs, you can easily transcribe from the computer to one of the pre-printed logs - and be dead-on accurate.
