Logbook problems

You could be held responsible. They may also share some responsibility, but since you filed the logs, you could be held liable. If there is an issue, you may want to correct the problem.

 

You are liable for any entries you made. The company is required to keep logs for six months, so if an audit of the company is conducted you could still be subject to sanctions.

 

Do not give a #### my friend! If you do not work for them and they need something from you they can hire you as a contractor! Hope you will use some ridiculous price like 2000$ per hour!

Wilbo, "what were you thinking?" If you fudge your logs, prepare to pay the price, period. I can't even imagine somebody telling me to run illegal, truck, trailer, logs, anything. My CDL, my choice, and I don't choose to hang my backside out in the wind and hope nobody spanks me. Hey! Nice metaphor!

 

Bull crap. He can't incriminate you without incriminating himself. He has much more at risk as a carrier/employer then he could ever get dropped at your feet, as an ex-driver. Laugh at him next time he tries to intimidate you like that.

 

You do your part they do there's. If it's changed then there is a problem. Then they keep their copy for their required days and so do you. That's what I would do but I haven't done it for many years.

 

Exactly! It would be like a big drug dealer turning in a customer, lol.

 

Not true I got hit with a 500$ fine after a company I left 4 months before got audited. I did one too many trips and I couldn't work one of the trips in. So I used one of th office employees as a "co driver" even though he didn't go with me. The auditor walked up to the guy and asked for his log book of driving status at that time. Which he forgot to fill out. And then where did they turn to?....... To me he said "explain" followed by a 30 minute lecture.


My suggestion is this. Get it fixed you'll lose an hour or two of time maybe to correct your logs and save yourself the headache
