Logbook software that doesn't run on windows

    Does anyone know of a software for logs that I can run on my acer chromebook? This was a gift for me to start doing my logs on but it doesn't run windows. All the software i found run off windows any help would be great.

    I don't know of anything commercial running with the Chrome OS but it might possibly come about later.

    Trucklogger has Mac and Linux, as well as Windows versions as far as I know.

    For the Chromebook you'll need to find a web based solution. The Chromebooks weren't designed/intended for software to be installed on them. There are ways to work around that design so I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will require some research effort on your part. The Chromebook probably isn't the best solution for driver tasks such as daily log and/or gps navigation. However they are good at most things that take place in a browser.

    The other downside to a Chromebook for this application is that it may be designed to shut off. I have one and it will shut off after a while and I don't think that's a setting I can change. That means you would have to turn it on and log in each time to update your log. It doesn't take long to do that, but that's not as fast as having the unit already on and logged on.
