HI I did some research and came up with this site that has a very informative slideshow showing H.O.S. (Hours of Service)---logbook calculations and procedures along with lots of information on other "safety" issues. good refresher course for some and a wealth of information for others --It was last updated in Jan 09. Happy Logging!!
the link below is for the "slideshow " presentation

    http://www.olblueusa.org/CDL&CMVSafetyInfoCenter/#HOSInfo

IF anyone has any other known sites or "easy to understand" info to help understand the logbook please post them, Logbooks are one of the more complicated processes in learning to drive OTR, and if done wrong can be a real problem

Log books are as easy as basic adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Of course if you failed 8th grade math I could see where it's hard. Guess you will really be confused when they change them in 2011. What with all that new math to learn.

You ever thought of using another color?

Red is real hard to read.

Get driversdailylog.com for the computer and never have a bad logbook! It's the best money I EVER spent! There is another one out there but I've never seen or used it.

So I guess what you are saying is that it doesnt matter HOW or WHEN or there is NO BETTER way to do log book entries to "legally" get better hours or "legally" get some kind of benefit as to how the steps are done???????? If it is so easy WHY are there so many "legal variations or how too's" on doing logbook entries searchuser: logsrus-- she has "many ways" to legally fill out a logbook so that it is more beneficial to you the driver...BUT then again ya i am very good at 8th grade math ------thats still 4+5= 9 and 8x3=24 kinda stuff :biggrin_255:---- if so then good.....cuz I will be a logbook PRO !!!! to heck with all the "experienced" people that know better ways to do stuff. I will just jump on your bus and add 3+3 = 6 and 10-2=8 and noooooo problems... happy trucking and thank you for setting me straight::::: redwriter
with the 2011 changes you speak of maybe it will be MANDATORY that every one is on electronic logs by then....... no math needed,!! drive safe

Hey Cal, are you running 11 hrs a day or 8.75 log book routine? As far as I've seen it's not so easy to play the log book,on the up &up.
