I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make?If you’re in the sleeper put down in sleeper berth. Why intentionally put yourself in harm’s way.You can run 20 miles an hour over the speed limit to and might get away with it a thousand times, but it’s that one time you get caught that gets you

    I don't own Ryder, that's a rental truck, so HOS doesn't apply.

Wrong there daisy, class rating does not apply.

In most cases, however, placarded Hazmat drivers have to have a c or b CDL.

This is true as it is for many states going beyond the 150-air-mile radius.
    Nope truck above 10,000 lbs GVW - 395.1 (e) section 2
    But that's a different issue.

I have four trucks that are over 10,001 lbs GVW; they are box trucks and work intrastate. They all have to log because they are driving outside the 150-mile radius and work for hire.

My office quit asking me to log sleeper when I sent the boss a Snapchat of me getting a hummer at a ladies house in Williston.

Now, if you sling a hammock under the trailer because your AC quit working, do you log SB or off duty while sleeping in the hammock?

When I got put up in a motel I kept receipts. As long as you cover yourself for 8 days you won't get wrote up for falsifying like OP will.

I can't imagine this being an issue with LTL drivers not being able to prove their 10 hours off duty was legit.

10 hours in the sleeper berth is by definition "off duty" but logging it as off duty is what will end up biting you. You'll run across an LEO one day not impressed by your lack of understanding. Ignorance is no excuse.
