but where does it say you have to log sleeper, other than split breaking??? it doesn't, he volunteered the info, thus cooking his own goose.
-
So do I have to go on duty to change my duty status to off duty when exiting the sleeper berth?
QuietStorm and skateboardman Thank this. -
I know right? It's just so petty that it's ridiculous.

I guess I did cook my own goose. But that's because I didn't see a reason to have to lie. This has NEVER EVER been an issue before. I guess with all these companies going to EOBRs now, they don't have as many log book violations any more so they have go after the chickenspit violations they can pull out of their #####. Next time my logs are looked at my mouth is shut.

In humanities defense typical government
laws seem to contradict from one paragraph to the next -
Where? In the link I provided that's where. It very clearly states that drivers cannot log off duty while in the bunk. It really doesn't get simpler than that. The DOT says you can't do it. Period.scottied67 Thanks this.

Eactly where is the Needles CHP Inspection or do you mean the Bug Check at the border. There is sometimes a CHP there doing random, but the one that everyone talks to is Dept of Ag not CHP, by the way. They may have told him to go into town and get a tire.
I have had them release me to go take care of a leaking air bag. If that would have been a normal scale house like Tehachapi or Banning then he would have sit till the tireman showed up. Why would you rat out another driver, just to be a grekin,kona911 Thanks this. -
i sat on my bunk during my 30 minute break
i must be in violation of a federal document
quit drinking the koolaidskateboardman Thanks this. -
like yankee, leave the Kool-Aid alone. youre missing the point logging off duty is well okay in the regs also. unless I volunteer the info , I am logging off duty. I haven't had a problem in 35 years now , haven't splept a wink apparently
