I'm working for a company moving trucks in the oilfield.
Sometimes we are asked to drive chase vans.
Chase vans either take drivers to trucks or follow trucks and pick up drivers from sites.
If I drive a chase van should I log as on duty only or log as driving also?
The vans are less than 10,000 and 7 passenger.
Thank you.
Logging question...company van

You would log it as driving if you're driving.

You would have to ask your company... I only log commercial driving as "driving", if I'm in a recovery/repair truck I just log "on duty".

If the van has commercial plates then you log it as driving. If it is a non commercial vehicle then you log it as on duty.
jte Thanks this.
