The Waffel House is one of the last restrant chanes that resembles the diners of many years ago, and one of my favorate eats. They are often a short walk from the truck stop, and offer decent food at a resonable price. Over the years, I have noticed something unique about some of this restrant chane's patrons: At anytime during the day, almost at any one of them, there is one local yokal hanging around the bar, drinking coffee. He knows all the employees by name, and they all seem know him well. He sets a the bar, occationally talking to one of the waitresses about some abstract point while she is trying to prepare someone's order. They are always nice to him, even though to me he is annoying.
Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I think I saw that same guy come out of "the little booth" at the adult book store. These guys never seem to have a job and it irritates me to no end that these people are probably on welfare, using my hard earned tax dollars to support their "self gratification" habits. At least a couple of rolls of quarters a day. I hope they at least wash their hands before engaging in the fine dining experience at the Waffle House.
