LoneStar is one of those companies that make you start out with the smaller loads and work your way up. Go as far as you can up the ladder BEFORE you buy a truck.

No doubt about that.

I'm sure you can lease on with the others no problem. I know a couple Tmc O/O's but I'm not so sure that they would be a good company to lease on to. Only hauling their general freight and no rgn or boat O/O. I think it's like 72% or 75% with trailer? Maybe 75% and 78% shoot, I forget. It's nothing special though.

I currently drive for melton but am looking into lone star for the HH and OD exp. let me just say that if you don't mind working (ie tarping #### near EVERY load), they are a great company. they take great care of their drivers, they have excellent equipment, and they are a top notch outfit. that said, you will be running flatbed and flatbed only (no drops, lowboys rgn's etc), also lots and lots of coils and aluminum extrusions (ltl nightmare loads). as far as I've heard, tmc is a good company as well if you don't mind running 62 and having your truck inspected by the mp's every time you go to the terminal (i have heard that they have a pretty good home time policy though). hope this helps

If you live down there go with Lonestar. I worked for TMC on there specialized for a year and a half and was driving there for 2.5 years. If you want to pull specialized stuff and living in TX, go Lonestar hands down!
