Haven't gotten below 50mph on any hills surprisingly. Pulls very well I'd say.

With trucking and its irregular routing, that question can't be answered with one answer. Sometimes I may pass through Houston on every load I pull for weeks at a time and then like now, I've only seen Houston twice in the past 3-4 months. If you're wanting to be near or at home often, this isn't the company for you.

I know another guy thats there right now also but like dj said probably shouldn't come here if you need/want to be home frequently. Turns out I was able to pick up this NV load yesterday but had to wait hours for them to finish loading so didn't make it out of Atlanta till early this am.

I am not looking to get home frequently. I just merely asked how often do you go thru or deliver in Houston. My girlfriend lives there and I have other friends there also. I realize the expectations for being out with LST. I plan to stay out 4 to 5 weeks and take off 4 to 5 days. So far everyone I have talked to has said that would not be a problem.

Since it has slowed down. How many miles are you guys averaging? Also what size ladder will I need on the truck, I am new to Flatbed. Looking Forward to getting my feet wet!

I would think that would not be an issue

There's 3 ports I know of that we deliver to in Houston so it's a crap shoot on when you'll get those loads. If you're picking up a Cat piece in Illinois or North Carolina there's a 50/50 chance it's going to a port. And if it's going to South America, it's very likely going to a Houston port.

4 to 5 weeks out and 4 to 5 days off is perfect with LST. I've had no issue getting home when I asked to be home. In fact, I've got a personal matter I'm January only 3 weeks after Christmas to take care of and cannot miss. This'll be true telling of how they treat us. I've given my dispatcher a month's heads up. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Don't have a ladder on my truck, but in situations where I might have needed one I'd say a 4 foot step would be beneficial.

I've gotten 6250 miles since November 15th, but I've also sat about 10 days due to breakdowns and being under permits. Not a fan of permit loads during the winter. These loads might take an extra day because you're only working with 8 hours of sunlight.
