Yes some places are harder than others but it just takes a little more patience.

Not so much harder to drive you'll find though that its the reversing onto docks that is harder compared to say a Freighliner Century.

W9 is an excellent truck but will always be second best to Peterbilt.

I know when we done our training we had one Pete there and the trainers told us that the Petes didn't turn as good as the freightliner or the kenworth. The Pete they had was a fairly new one. Wondered if that was just certian years of Petes. I am wanting around a early to mid 2000 truck. I do like the Petes but I like the w9 als . Any info on the freightliner classics? Also what are some things I need to focus on when getting my first truck? Thanks for all the info.

I have owned all three. They are all good trucks. Freightliner parts are more plentiful and less expensive.

Space is tight in the cab and into sleeper. But its nice being able to reach over and roll the window up or down without getting out of yr seat.
But the one thing I did learn is that other older drivers pay their respect to the old conventional trucks. The long hoods place you in a category above the rest. Kinda like having a first generation Stingray than an everyday Corvette.

Plus you get to stick your nose in the air as you pass them.

I really like the older trucks with the long hoods. I would like to find a lease place to get one. Is that possible or do they only lease newer trucks. If so I'm assuming I would have to get a loan to get an older truck. May have to start out with the freightliner classic since it would be the cheapest option right now. Then maybe save up and get a nicer Pete.

Nothing wrong with a classic freightliner IMO.
