Sweetdaddy I heard your live unload took so long cuz you locked yourself in the truck and had to wait for a Swift driver to walk by and let you out.:biggrin_25519:

When I was running hopper bottom we'd load pork meal at Swift in Louisville . Their bin held enough to load 3 trucks . After that they ran about 10,000 lbs. an hour . One after I was supposed to have a 2 p.m. appointment . The bin was empty and they had started another truck at 3:30 . At 8:30 I back in an got in the sleeper . It got real quiet around 10 p.m. . They cancelled 3rd shift that night and I stayed half loaded until the day shift came in .
Purina was bad about unloading . No appointments and there might be 4 or 5 trucks ahead of you . If a load of meal was loaded hot and had to be rodded or took a lot of beating that load could take a couple of hours to get off .

Took me over 11 hours to get unloaded at this warehouse. Only got unloaded after going in and telling them there was no excuse for this as I had loaded the entire load by myself in less than 3 hours. By hand...:biggrin_25513:

Not a winner but today at the San Antonio Express and News, checked in at 0900 cst and was cut loose at 1445. Had to park out in the street and risk a parking ticket. Fortunately the police and parking Nazi's didn't give us grief. There were 3 trucks ahead of me when I got there. By the time I left there were 6 in line and the reciever was recommending guys who came in behind them that their dispatch might want to reschedule for the morning.

Actually my experience tonight was not that bad at the warehouse on 75th ave. Appointment was at 2100, I arrived at 2030, had paperwork in hand and out the front gate by 2245. Considering my load's original appointment was 2300 yesterday (missed thanks to a freak blizzard stranding me in Deming, NM for 16hrs!), I'm going to mark this one down as a positive experience.
