rush to houston, tx. sat with crane operator and another driver waiting to start loading. was told they are waiting for an inspection on the load. ended sitting there for 7 days. shipper and receiver split costs for us to sit in hotel, our meals and detention time. had fun sitting in the sun, by the pool having some wobbly pops.

SLC, sun soap, supposed to be a drop and hook, turned into 36 hours of being locked to their dock on memorial day weekend. Did i mention they had sent me to the wrong warehouse location 5 times before I got sent to the right one?

Johnson Controls, Florence, SC. Arrived on a Tuesday at 0930 for a pickup and was not loaded until 1200 Wednesday. The broker paid my detention after 2 hours so I didn't complain.

    Glatfelter papermill in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Arrived at 6pm, appt. was apparently 8pm, got in the dock at 10pm, got done at 4am.

This was about a month ago, I have been at some shippers that have taken a long, long time but I don't remember every shipper I've been to.

I did pull a dry bulk tank a year ago, and depending on what kind of product you have, unloading took me anywhere from an hour to 3 hours, with the exception of this one load of talcum powder I took to some place in Missouri.

The tank I had was in such disrepair, unbeknownst to me, since I had just hooked to it at our yard, the pressure gauge hoses I found out had been sliced, and I was getting very bad readings, and on top of that, the powder had started to chunk up, and the receiver had me put some kind of filter on the back of my outflow pipe to keep the large chunks going through. It plugged up every 5 minutes. Took me 8 hours to unload, and I still had about 1,200lbs of material left on the tank, but I had had enough of it, I went back to Wichita and dropped off my truck and trailer, packed my stuff into my car, left a note for them to find in the morning, (it was a nice note, nothing nasty or cynical,) and I never went back.

I'll never do dry bulk tank again unless I was hauling one single product, and the tank and blower were in excellent condition, no leaks, etc.

I'll be another one to mention Walgreen's DC in Perrysburg, OH.

Took them 6 hours to unload Campbell's Soup that came from the factory 33 miles south in Napoleon, OH.
