How do you define "remote"?? In 2020 most all the US has cell phone coverage of some type. Yes, there might still be some places where you can drive for OVER a hundred miles and not find services, interstate as well as US and state routes. I just don't consider the lack of a gas station or a truck stop being remote anymore. Back in the good ole days, way back when Neanderthals and dinosaurs roamed all over these areas sharing them with sagebrush, Jackrabbits, and Snakes you had remote. Sorry, I just don't consider any area that is a normal transportation passageway like a US Interstate to be remote in the 21st century!

Us old guys remember I-5 in Ca. between Bakersfield and Tracy when it was built around '72 and was opened completely on day one, however there was no nothing in between (gas stations, eats, anything) approx 224 mi. Boo-coo 4 wheelers were running out of gas ! Auto club had tow trucks stationed along the way.
