Wendover, UT to SLC. Just miles of salt either side of the intrtstate. With way too many fools on the interstate....

    MACK E-6, JC1971 and 650cat425 Thank this.

Not particularly desolate or remote i guess, but longest uninterrupted (no exits/entrances) of highway or interstate in the US is the Florida turnpike between yeehaw junction and Orlando. Second longest is between yeehaw junction and ft pierce

But there are service plazas in between those exits for food and fuel

I was going to mention that Montana stretch. Spotty cell service too.

The Dakota's can make you feel like you're camping also.

The stretch from El Paso to San Antonio... Yes and no. But definitely watch for deer.

Some highway systems aren't long, but they take forever because of curves and such. One in I think NV, it felt like forever

I-80 across Nevada is about 430 miles of almost nothing, but state route 50 just south of I-80 is really desolate. Most drivers avoid it because if you break down, you're screwed.

I love 50. I've only done it once but can't wait to do it again. It does carry the name 'The loneliest highway in America'. Interstate or not, it's desolate.

MACK E-6, JC1971, SteveScott and 2 others Thank this.

Sitting in Wendover for the night with 9.5 hours left on my 70. If I had more time I might try it. Haven't done 50 end to end in over 30 years.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
