In today's economy and with the price of fuel as high as it is you are not seeing as many guys going 70 and higher unless they dont care about the high costs involved nowdays by being a O/O. The days of 70mph for a company truck are long gone, my freind. The facts are that most of the bigger companies are governing their equipment at anywhere from 60mph to 68mph and most are around 64mph. They are doing this for several reasons--in order to save fuel and in oprder to keep their drivers out of ticket problems and to keep their trucks out of speed related accidents. Fuel and Maintenance are the highest costs associated with running a truck and these companies are just watching their bottom line on each truck, cant say I blame them. In order for us to make money they obviously have to be making money also.

Well I do not see the ticket problem. If you are dring 70, and the speed limit is 70, you will not get a ticket.

When I figure out how to do it, I will bypass the trucks speed limiter.

TMC is a Para-Military Outfit. And this is good. Go with your local outfit, and see how it goes.

I think they can track your speed by the Qualcomm so I wouldn't suggest that.

The fuse in the qualcomm can burn out. That may render it useless until it is fixed.

Your profile has you as driving a year or less. Fuel may be down, but guys running 70 are throwing money out the window. Most co's have cut back their trucks. I have a 70 mph truck, but don't run 70. Most O/O's that I know don't gouge on the pedal much anymore either. Seems the one's that do are drivers who do not get fuel bonuses or buy fuel.

I guess based on what I have heard from everyone I will have to slow down. But I would rather it be my own decision, not the trucks.

Perhaps this makes me sound crazy: I get bored driving, especially at speeds below 70. Am I some sort of misfit?
