Anyone out there currently hauling flatbeds for SWIFT? The only experience I have as a driver is the six weeks I am currently going thru with SWIFT. I did not go thru their scholl but rather RoadMaster. Not sure it was that much better. I am thinking I want to haul flatbed. I realize most of the work that is envolved but would still like to talk to a SWIFT driver that is currently working hauling flatbeds for SWIFT

ive been hauling flatbed for swift since the 1st week of november and im happy. i stay busy, rarely layover waiting for new load assignments and sock away lotsa $$ into my savings every week. im still a very fresh rookie so my miles average about 2200/week. i picked this job because i always wanted to be a flatbed trucker, it just took me a while to realize i should actually do it. a lot of people may tell you swift is a horrible company, but i wouldnt listen to them unless they give you 1st hand experience tales.
tarping with frozen tarps sucks, but thats really the only negative with flatbed.
the job requires patience, and at the end of the day you have to love the job in order to stay with.
you will do just as much backing in tight quarters as van and reefer guys do so dont listen to those who would tell you otherwise. i used to pull vans so i know 1st hand, and ill never go back to vans as i found it extremely boring.
