I used to run similar sizes boulders for Parsons Walls. I always held the trailer brakes with the steering wheel mounted lever, the actual name escapes me right now, and the truck brakes released. Raise the box and once the boulders start to roll out I stopped lifting and waited for them to stop all the while holding my foot on the brake. As the boulders spill out and hit the ground they will build up and actually keep you from tipping. I would then raise the box release the trailer brakes and use the foot brake from there. It got a little hairy a few times but never laid it over. Good luck!

Interesting I might try that method what I normally do is use the jonny brake and relese it as soon as the boulders come loose and it pushes me forward and so on. I also haul anything to do with aggregate but these boulders are for erosion control after these fires in Colorado springs. I'll only be doing this project for about another week. Any tips for hauling sand or other types of loads in an end dump. Tricks of the trade? Criticism? Lol. Im always eager to learn more from you seasoned vets

Always hold the trailer brake when dumping. NEVER let the trailer creep forward. Regardless if you have a frameless, quarter or full frame dump be cause if there is a rut you didn't see or you made one by hitting the brakes too hard things can get interesting. Lots of pucker
