Im looking at a 07 columbia day cab with a 60 series detroit, ryder leased truck, pretty basic that was used by a wine delivery company, only 170k miles on it. Only thing that got me is I requested a maintenance report, which they provided to me immediately, since it was a leased vehicle and always serviced at ryder, but it's 8 pages long!!! And each page has like 30 rows!! Is that pretty typical for a 8 year old truck???I mean it has every single thing, even little things, like gladhand seal replacement, slack adj adj..etc..
I'm a first time buyer, so this is all new to me...Thanks for any input on this.
Also does anyone know how easy it is to take down the full roof fairings? It'll be used for a tanker so I need to make it a low top. I know there is low tops but this one seems like a good deal with low miles.
Looking at a 07 freightliner columbia with 170k on clock

That is typical for Ryder. They repair things just because it reached a certain mileage on the truck. Ryder sheets are always long like that. They are known for that in the industry.
I get a lot of Ryder trucks in my shop for repairs and they always bring these long histories for all the minor crap they did. -
Ya fleet truck has a work order made for anything. That way mechanic times are tracked. Loose headlight all the way to an I frame is all logged into the computer

I bought a truck recently from ryder and its the worst truck i ever bought.
even their is a big 8 page maintenance report on them it doesn't mean nothing. here is a few things for example
New radiator but they tightened the rubber on the side and on top but one bolt was over tightened and it went through the radiator.
The turn signal bulb and socket was replace and it wasn't working, i pulled out the plug and the pin in the socket was bent.
That's just two examples i can go on and on. i picked up the truck in mid Feb and since then i have driven it less then 10k miles. Its at the shop for 3-4 days and i work 1-2 days a week. its at the dealer as we speak and its been their for 3 days and they can find whats wrong with it.
To get my point across they did all that work but who did it and how they did it,are the people doing the work certified or they just hire anyone that says their mechanics. -
I drive for a company that leases everything thru Ryder. I wouldn't have a Ryder used truck if someone paid me to do it.
half assed, work around, cheap cheap cheap parts and as absolutely little as possible done.

I'll bet most of those miles are city driven.
I used to drive Ryder trucks to the port for overseas use, that is a good place for them.
Good Luck
LoneCowboy Thanks this.
