Well here's my two cents&its for U not me....since you r new at this&frankly the learning curve is higher than you think....go used for now&save the expense.....lots of megas selling used but imho....call Badger Utility in Wi....they handle a ton of Martins stuff....right around 15k will get u an adequate 53' utility w/air weigh&air slide......i know of 6 people who have bought them in the last year &have had Very good luck.......many of them r much more lightly used than u think......many have hi switch hours but very low run hours...they r not pretty but they r functional&WILL serve your purpose for now.....the only thing you may need to do is have a (1-is enuff) Vent hole cut in psgr rear door.....and make sure to get one w/a chute.......

Now as for my opinion on specng a new wagon.....all manuf make hi&low end models....therefore it does come down to Ut vs Dane......I know Danes hold up better&imho the doors seal better.....BUT its a Chevy ford argument....as for the units I prefer a tk...But in todays world they r pretty much the same.....the service issue that was mentioned is a non issue....any TK dealer will work on a carrier and vice versa.....besides they r both ###### theives
lol.....if I was only going to do produce....Id spec a 110 since it has a smaller but effecient compressor that uses considerably less fuel......

As for size.....you have to have a 53 nowadays.....only because most/all shippers are also ###### idiots.....but most won't load anything but.......as for spreads you could get a sliding spread but they r heavy......there r quite a few states where u cannot have the rear axle(spread or not)past 50'....which is y u see those silly 53' spreads that r 1/2 way under the wagon&except in the case of a skateboard having the spread at 38&48ft negates any advantage on a reefer....oh yeah&it looks really silly...lol

Pullin a reefer&makin$$$$$ w/it AINT what it used to be.......ESPECIALLY produce.....so be careful&again my real advice is get started as inexpensively as possible in case&if its workin for you well in 18-24 months....then go spec what u want once you know What you r really gonna do&at that point on paper any Utility or Dane dealer will give u every penny u spent on the old one as a down against your new one.

    good luck

RedForeman, gokiddogo and Blu_Ogre Thank this.
