I am in the process of searching for the best training schools that are mostly local to me (Tucson,AZ) I have found one called HDS Truck Driving Institute, they offer a program that is 730 Hours ~6mo. 4 months training and 2 months on-the-job training. What are the advantages or disadvantages of going thru this program? How about HDS as a company? I read a post from here that is 6 years old saying that most driving companies don't accept their training, truth? If so why? what about their training isnt accepted? Would I be better of going to a school that is only 4 weeks?
Thanks for helping a noob out.

160 hour school is sufficient. Most companies accept 160 hr. school; some trucking companies like Navajo accept 140 hrs.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
I did my training with Swift in Memphis, TN. They also do training at the Phoenix terminal as well. I really enjoyed the school, and learned a lot, which is why I question how a lot of swift trained drivers can't seem to figure out to drive. Either way it was only three weeks classroom, and 6 weeks (42 days) with a mentor as a team. You won't get rich with them, but it was a wonderful start for me. I now have been driving since 2007, and can't imagine my life any other way. Good luck, and if you need anything you can pm me.

thank you both, further question, i always believe the more training the better off you can be so therefore wouldnt the longer school be more beneficial? or am i missing something
