We are looking at putting ELD's in our trucks. I have been looking at various providers for some time now, I am no closer to making a decision. I am looking for feedback on what providers others have gone with and good and bad reviews. Do you like your system? Is it easy for the drivers to use? Did it make the IFTA reporting easier?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to go with a provider that has a good program.
Looking at ELD's and need information

Bump. Same situation. Seems like all the other threads on ELDS went off the rails.
Thought about using BigRoad dashlink device but it doesn't work with apple devices yet and seems like there are many issues so far.
Looked at Rand McNally but they are just as expensive as omnitracs would probably be less reliable.. I know I have 2 RM GPS's and they crash all the time...
Omnitracs? Peoplenet? I want something reliable and not full of bugs while keeping costs reasonable. -
im sure there is a lot of us in the same boat......lol

I used the Qualcomm/Omitracs MOC 50 and it worked good had a couple crashes but it would restart itself. I had to unplug it and plug it back in 3 time. That was over 2 years ago when they first came out they were also still updating the program. It had nice display the way it would count down your hours. The air time was $24 a month I believe. I was driving for Landstar so I'm not sure if their was anything they did on their end or not as far as computer system. But the unit in the truck was pretty good.
I have PeopleNet now as company driver. It not as good. I don't like the display on the screen. It just not as simple as the MPC displayHDFatboy Thanks this. -
@HDFatboy ...regarding RM crashing...
Have you tried to reset them?
Also, I would reconnect them via USB to the RM website to do a software & data files UPDATE on a computer.
Updating them allows them to also get the most up-to-date PREDICTED satellite locations, which should help in faster geo-location.
A lot of people just "set & forget" gps units and then wonder why they dont work so good after a while. -
LOL yes indded we are all in the same boat. Will follow this read as well!!

We've had the Omnitracs system now for about two years, we had Peoplenet prior to that. For a smaller company, Omnitracs was much more affordable, more reliable (so far), and we like it better overall. It's tablet/bluetooth based.
HDFatboy Thanks this. -
Don't use workplan on your phone. It freezes the phone all the time. I have to reset it at least once a day. It's a horrible app.

$20 per month and free hardware. $30 with mileage tracking.
