I just saw one of their trucks today driving through Spokane... was thinking, "hmm... who are these guys?"

I think jim palmer sold out too a couple guys out of the chicago area.I know money was pretty tight before and after the buyout. I know they use to haul ice cream out of blue bunny..but not so much any more with the older trls they have..

I used to work for palmer and ever since the bankruptcy and the buy things got bad. People were jumping ship left and right and they had to give a lot of the trailers back and had to go buy older second hand ones. Paychecks were coming later and later. Charge accounts were gone, shop work was limited and they closed the Salina Ks terminal. They rely too much on brokers, pay low, and will make you stay out too long now. Used to be a good company but now that the Chicago people have it, it's only a matter of time before they are gone.

Man I don't like to hear stories like this. Something has to change in this so called "United States of America". It's not just trucking, it's everything man. I thought with all the natural disasters going on, like the tsunami in Japan, the floods on the east coast, the tornados in the south, the fires, etc., it would at least create work, but nothing seems to be helping the economy. Trucking companies are treating darn good, safe, drivers like crap, and I'm tired of it. Drivers have to contend with their employers putting false information on their DAC, theres CSA to worry about, any little thing and your toast. Tired of it. Hope Jim Palmer trucking gets better.
