are there trainers who do flatbedding or is everyone a reefer-hauler?

There's trainers on the flatbed side. Many folks will get their CDL and do their basic training to become solo qualified on the reefer side simply because there's more of us (trainers as well) - then switch over to flatbed for securement training. There's less waiting around involved if it goes down like that...

I've been thinking about Prime flatbed as well. I have a little over 2 years dry van OTR experience and a clean driving record. How long is the securement training? Any Idea roughly how much money I can expect to make as a Prime flatbedder? The company I am currently with does not offer flatbed in my area. I live just south of Kansas City. I'm looking at either Prime or TMC. Any info you can give me would be greatly apreciated.

My understanding is that you go out with a flatbed trainer for 30 days - you get the securement training and an introduction to how the flatbed division does business. That was at least a year ago when I was talking to one of the flatbedders about it - so...

As far as money goes - you'd probably be better off talking to one of the guys at a truckstop than having me guess. Give the recruiters a call and see what they have to say as well.

    FarvaWS6 Thanks this.
