Hi guys, Im looking for some advice on a new CB, I drive in the woods , and am looking for a good reliable radio that is tough . Not looking for anything fancy It will have to work in the cold , heat , moisture and stand up to the pounding that everything else in the truck takes when "coming down the mountain".

Not to be dramatic but when calling out the K's on a one way road , I need a radio that I know is going to work .

    Thanks

I've got a Cobra 29 ltd Classic that I Bought on sale in 1988 for $89. I had it tweaked when I bought it and its still working fine. I had to replace the original mic after 5 yrs with an Astatic mic. I use mine with a single 4 ft francis antenna and it does a good job. I think you can still buy these radios for less than $100 when they are on sale.

Uniden made Cobra, Midland and Radioshack/Realistic in the 70-late 80's
Now Maxon makes them radios now, go with a Uniden!
