I drive a Volvo with the ishift auto in it and love it. I don't plan on going back anytime soon. I also have a bad back (the result of getting blown up a few times.) It isn't the shifting that will get ya its the seat. That being said as a new driver you should be looking to expand your resume and get your hands on as much equipment as you can.

Don't autos require more maintenance than manual? More prone to problems?

It hasn't been my experience that they require more main thence than a manual. In fact my truck has required less main thence then the freightliners in the fleet. I was in just yesterday to put some stuff in my truck and one of the mechanics was saying that the new Freightliner's were getting oil contamination in the fuel and were really breaking down a lot because of it.

Well, since my post was directed at the OP and not at you, I wasn't saying anything. The reason I asked was to find out if he wanted a fleet that ran autos due to some issues with learning to shift .which he has answered that he can shift. Gad nothing to do with you or your ability to drive.

    Offended much?
I disagree. I've paid my dues in a manual and was truckin' when you were still pushing one across the living room carpet.
