I'm from Salt Lake City and licensed in Utah But planning on moving to Florida soon. I have thought about May trucking company and Leonard's. They are on my list . As well as SS Transport and Magnum.

Plenty of reefer freight coming out of South Florida, but maybe not enough for all the companies that want to run there.
    ~
May Trucking Company has terminal in Pensacola.
Kold Trans has a facility in Miami.
    Both are reefer companies.
    ~
Prime Inc. terminals are in Pierson and Miami.

    Suggestion: "Think outside the box"

To clarify -- consider moving to Georgia, instead. And just visit the kids from there. Your trucking carrier options will expand LIKE CRAZY above that GA/FL line. :p :D

Most carriers really seem to like Georgia (lots of freight, maybe?). BONUS POINTS -- if you live in the northern half of the state.

I should know -- I live in south Ga....not far at all from the FL line.

Like it, or not -- admit it, or not -- ready, or not: Atlanta, GA....and the surrounding area (i.e., basically the northern half of the state)....is an economic powerhouse....with the freight volumes/traffic to go along with it.

They don't call it...."the crossroads of the south"....for nothing. :p

I learned this the "easy" way....back when the economy crashed, due to the covid shutdowns.

Atlanta-area freight kept me running....while a lot of other drivers wondered when/where their next load was coming from......:(

Have to pay state income taxes in Georgia, but not in Florida.
I've lived in Florida, Tennessee, Nevada, all "no state income taxes", and if I ever leave Nevada, will move back to Florida. In Florida, probably move to Melbourne area which is only 70 miles to Orlando.

I'm with you on the taxes , I lived in Nevada also. Plus I just want to walk out on the beach. Being from Utah , I need some beach life.
