That's what they say, but the 5 yr. limit is for weeding out people they don't want to hire. Many companies do this, but in reality they look at each case on a case by case basis. That's why it's better to submit an application before any phone calls. It gives the companies time to get comfortable or not with the application.
Navajo Express also hires felons on a case by case basis.

I have been off the forum for a bit starting my own company. At one time, I was the resident felon.

Felonies will depend on what the felony was. If it had to do with drugs you will be drawing to an inside straight. Mine was child support and it has never slowed me down. Of course the fact that I have destroyed 2 semi's hasn't stopped me either. In this economy there is no reason that someone who wants a job cannot find one. A felon is down on the list of people who companies want to hire but you will see many people driving a truck today that barely speak the language.

Do not let anything stand in your way. You just have to keep sending in the applications. If you got your CDL then you are hire-able. The nation is 400,000 short on drivers.

The company that I am working for right now, waiting on some paper work, wants you to change your logs to make certain deliveries happen. As a felon, changing logs will not be a problem. Let them know that.

I do believe it's a requirement to drive in the oil industry, at least the water and sewer trucks. I'm odd man out at my company without a felony.
