Looking for a company with pet policy and OTR west, Alaska & Canada. Any suggestions?

Swift doesn't go to AK ( I wanted to also), and no pets in company trucks.

 

H. O. Wolding allows pets but no Canada or Alaska

 

you might want to have a little winter seat time before you head to alaska from the lower 48 in the winter. ran up there for about four years, and it comes with its own set of problems. my thoughts its not the place to learn winter driving skills. lots of luck

 

I'm going to watch this one. Been to Alaska a few times on my dime, if money could be made on such an adventure and my Sibe could come along boy that would be somethin'. Yea I know it wouldn't be easy and theres a lot that can go wrong it sure would be fulfilling.

 

Watkins and Sheppard will allow a pet but only with $500 deposit. You do not have to worry about the money since they will refund your trucking school (up to 4.800).

 

Get the experience and then you can look into doing runs to Alaska. Very few companies run it but I am sure the pay probably would be decent.

Look into going to work on the North Dakota oil fields maybe, with the winter coming up, that could be a good training experience if that's what you want to do.

 

Fairchild Freight hauls produce to Alaska, but they want teams with 5 years experience.

 

I drive northern canada ( within the Arctic Circle) and the Canadian and American Rockies. Alaska is probably the last place that you want to learn how to drive on snow and ice. Cut your teeth in the NW 1st. Up north if you get into truble it can be hours or sometimes depending on where you are even days before help arrives. Learn to drive the truck before you go on a great adventure up north.
