FFS! How is that not the best job ever? Our city guys make 24ish/hr and there are no minimums, OT is after 60hrs. We literally have people hacking each other to pieces in the parking lot with machetes to work here. (Including 60% of the Hwy OTR guys, desperate for a Daycab job).

The Average Daycab pay in Calgary is $18-19/hr in Wpg it’s $17-18. Always a ton of applications when one pops up, desperate. Meanwhile these guys walk away from guaranteed 40hrs a wk@$28+/hr? Wild.

    $28/hr x 40 = $1120/wk gross
    $24/hr x 60 = $1440/wk gross
    70hrs US OTR average = $1650 gross

    $28/hr @ 70hrs = $1960

It's pretty good. In two years they'd be making $36/hr.

Here in Soviet Kanuckistan, Sparkle Socks says if you didn’t get all the shots you’re a politically incorrect, anarchist, selfish misogynistic racist that is putting everyone’s grandma at risk. Your assumed political leanings got you screened out by the ?? in the office with the blue hair. If you haven’t noticed, over the last 25yrs if you check all the political correctness boxes you get the job, even if you can’t drive the truck. Remember, diversity is our strength.

They’re nice enough to pre-load them for you, but you’ll visit a bunch of non truck friendly places and scatter a lot of finger prints around to empty it out. Any of those food service guys earn every cent of their pay.

Like short bus and hockey helmet special? I can’t believe the #### I’m seeing anymore. Talk about mass reality disconnect.

    BigHossVolvo Thanks this.
