Well here is where I am at at the moment. 3 months with Schneider back in 2006. Was going to goto Werner but failed the DOT on the first day of orientation and was placed on a 30 medical suspension or at least that is what the paper had on it. Got my blood sugar under control and called them back to get me back up to continue orientation/training but they don't return emails or phone calls. This was at the end of October, begining of November. So I have been unemployed since then. So now I have been throwing apps all over the place with companies that will take someone with less then 6 months exp. and so far the only one that has responded has been CREngland (I Know don't do the lease). I applied with TMC today and got a message to call in in 2 days so we will see! I would really like to get with TMC becuase of Tamko which is in Frederick 10 miles from my house and I believe they are a dedicated account. We'll see I guess, for now I'll just play ball :smt069

This should be a no-brainer to you, but you're going to have to find a trainer company. Not only do you have the less than 6 months experience against you, but you've been out of a truck since 2006 (providing I read your post right). Most companies are going to want a refresher course. This would be true even without your medical problems and failing a DOT physical. When you couple that fact in with everything else, it's going to make things more difficult for you. I'm not trying to pour salt on your wounds at all, just putting this information out there for the sake of others who might read this.

I wish I could steer you in a direction as far as getting on with a company, but there are lots of obstacles in front of you (i.e. the economy, your experience and medical conditions) that will make this a very rocky road. I imagine that you will
be asked to go out with a trainer again, or you could even be forced to take a refresher course from a CDL school.

Just out of my own curiousity, why did you leave Schneider after just 3 months?

Well without going into great detail my wife had some medical issues and attempted suicide. the main issue was she kept miscarrying usually immediately after conception but that one she was going into 2nd tri.

And the rule for anyone talking suicide is
1st time - kinda shrug it off as them talking
2nd time - interaction is needed of somesort

This wan't her talking, this was her third attempt at trying, the other two times where when she was a teen (other isssues alltogether).

So that is why only 3 months with Schneider, and after many sessions with a psychologist and medications, I feel it's time to get back to it! Like I said it would be nice if I could get with TMC and that Tamko account being 10 miles from the house.

Believe me when I say that I know all too well how depression can make a persons life seem completely unmanageable. I'm glad she finally sought out treatment. Now you two can move on with your life and your marriage.

Best of luck to both of you and I too hope that TMC will take you.

I take it Schneider won't hire you back?

No, I checked and they said no, but at least they didn't put anything negative on my DAC. I was under load near the Carlisle term which is where I was out of, dropped the truck off and turned in the keys. I was enroute to NYC and had 3 days before the scheduled drop.

That was the first time I have ever left a company without giving notice and I didn't like doing it.

I don't know the only other thing I can think of is getting my own truck and hitting up the load boards.

Put down the crack pipe and back away. Load boards are crap these days. Just look at them, call on a few loads and see what they are paying. I've been sitting at the house in Houston since Dec. 15. I can go broke here. don't need to do it on the road hauling for free. Best of luck, but do not buy a truck now. If you have the required down payment and the credit stroke that is needed, there are other things you can do.

Well I found out TMC was doing employment verification on me today. So I'll be calling them tomorrow to see if I can get onboard with them. Like I said it would be a sweet deal to get on that Tamko account 10 miles from the house! :biggrin_25525:

Good luck with TMC. There is a long waiting list for that Tamko Dedicated group. It is a pretty sweet deal, but expect to be on the line haul division where you are home every weekend for a year before getting on there.

We have a lot of good information on TMC here:

TMC said no, must be my lack of experiance and the current economy crap. Well looks like, I'll be going to CREngland instead... get my time in and find something better.

Have you thought about putting in with Swift?? For a training company there not to bad. With your lack of exp. and the frieght the way it is you can do a year there and then go some where better.
