Hello everyone looking for some advice on a good or at least decent company and pay with weekends home. I only have 5-6 months verifiable experience but I have been driving for years due to North Dakota farm/grain hauling laws. I live in Northeast iowa but will be moving to Des Moines Iowa at some point soon. Anyone have any suggestions? Any help will be greatly appreciated

Don't know if Don Hummer Trucking has weekends at home or not, but worth a phone call.
The company is based in Oxford, IArabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Hi bowhunter, most freight outfits I worked for usually had weekends off. I did work for an outfit that I had to work Sun. night, but had Friday's off. When I had my own truck, I'd work 24/7/365, but that was hauling intermodal, so it was mostly drop and hook, and the RR yards never close, and it was actually easier than during then week. I'd check the freight places. OTR, forgetabout it. Many times, you'll load on a Friday aft.( if you're lucky) to deliver on Monday. ( if you're lucky)

You can look up Perishable Distributors of Iowa based in Ankeny IA. They pretty much Del. to all the Hy-Vee stores, they have a website, but it's all grocery work...

If not TMC you could try Keim TS. -
Find a company that lets you take truck home on weekends or that has terminal in your city.
Some companies promise they are regional and get you home on weekends. A lot depends on where you live. -
As long as I'm home at least every other weekend and I can have riders and my dog that's the main worry for me. I get my daughter every other weekend so it's a must to be home on those weekends. But it would be nice to have a good pay and company behind that also. It's so hard to choose I have several companies that are trying to hire me I just don't know where to go. I know every company has its up and downs but seems like I'm only seeing bad on these. Hogan, warren, western, us express, celadon, prime, swift are so far the companies making promises any suggestions on any of them or another company that has rider and pet program?

JBS, Tyson, National Beef and Cargill all have packing house plants in Iowa. I was with a refer company that went to Iowa on a regular basis.
Apply to drive for those jobs driving for the packing houses. They all have their own trucks.
