looking for a good company with weekends home?

The easiest solution is just don't answer the phone. pattyj is from Iowa, she usually chimes in on any Iowa topic. ( she's been through the wringer with some of these companies) Just be careful with "promises". These recruiters can be the biggest BS'ers on the rock, only because, they are under the gun to get people in the door. Remember, you have THEM over a barrel, not t'other way 'round. Most places will let you have pets (1) and a rider, again, 1. Again, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't true. Good luck.

To the OP I'm not a driver but I spend a lot of time looking at companies
especially smaller ones. Here are a few for you to look at.
Art Pape flatbed or van
Mansur trucking flatbed
Kane Transport some flatbed and mostly hazmat tanker (fuel, LP, asphalt products etc.) Look hard at this one if you're going to be in Des Moines they've got terminals in IA, WI, MN and NE. I think you'd work every other weekend but a lot of local type stuff (daycab)
HO Wolding
Halvor lines I think they're a regional outfit if you choose that.
Magnum isn't just OTR they do a lot of line haul type runs with dry vans from what I've seen on their website. I don't know if Des Moines is a good location for them on that though.
The ones above advertise home weekends and they're smaller with the exception of Wolding's 300 trucks or so.

They grantees youre weekend or everyother weekend and ur home before sun down on Friday,,

TMC says they will try to get u home like 45 weekends a year.
