I’m about half way through the show “Jack Ryan” on prime. It’s pretty #### good and I’m liking the 2nd season even better then the first. It has the actor Jim from the office but in more of a military role.

Just curious...ever read the books? I'm really curious on the answer.

I promise to keep my rant to myself, regardless of your answer. ;)

I'm glad people enjoy it to be honest, I'm just mad I don't. :( It's a good story book or film.

Also, to add yet more to poor @pumpkinishere watchlist...

Death Wish...I liked most of them. Charles Bronson is crazy as hell.

I think I said them already, or someone else did but if not..

    Platoon

    Full Metal Jacket

    Hamburger Hill

    Dirty Dozen

    Commando

    The Replacements

The Longest Yard - Original or even the remake with Adam Sandler. Original is best, but the remake is funny.

El Mariachi, Desperado and Once Upon a Time in Mexico - 3 movie series.

I know it was said the OP isn't a fan of horror movies but..

    Gremlins

    Critters

    Tremors

    Dusk till Dawn

I find the late 60s and 70s a movie gold mine. That's where I dig on Prime and even rent to watch. I think it were the golden years of Hollywood productions. After that, only some were worth any discussion.
Classics, from the top of my head:

3 days of Condor with young Redford is always on my rewatch list, every 5-6 years I go back to it.
    Godfather 1 and 2.
    All President men,
Spielberg's "Duel" or "Encounters of the 3rd kind"
"Papillion" with Steve McQueen - that was a beauty.

    War movies: "Dirty Dozen",
"A bridge too far" but even better "Iron Cross" - that was a thrilling experience to see the protagonists from a viewpoint of a Wehrmacht platoon. I think it was the first of the kind that showed the human faces of German soldiers in WWII.

I also loved all spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, and Enyo Maricone soundtracks...I think the remastered format of "Once upon a time in the West" or "Duck, you sucker" are worth watching even for the music only...

And since you are a trucker you must watch "The sorcerer" 1977 - about trucks carrying nitroglycerin to put out a fire...
So many others from that era....but I don't have memory to list them all.

What I find interesting about the remastered production from 50 years ago or so, is all the sharp details about the times back then...for example, the way people dressed, different shapes of coke cans, Marlboro Reds, registration plates, and of course those classic Buicks and Oldsmobiles. That's thrilling to see...like a moment of the real world back then frozen in time. That's so priceless...so invaluable...

Great movie list! Tremors 2 is even better.

I have not. I only watched Jack Ryan because it was referred to me and I happen to like it.

Here is one: Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man

Oh well, I go by memories of Blockbuster's categories. They were under horror and thrillers. According to google Gremlins is a black comedy horror. An Critters is listed as Sci-fi horror. :)

Personally I found them funnier then hell, then again i also thought Nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th, etc were all funny to. I'm more of a Hitchcock and Twilight Zone style fan.

An someone else would've posted their horror had I put comedy. So from now on, I'll just google it, and go with that.

    ;)
