Thank you for the most educated answer i have received on here. So what your saying is DOT is ######## the trucker harder next summer? Any ideas on a good company that treats its employees like it should, good pay, home time, and constant runs? Thanks for your help. I truly appreciate it!:biggrin_25525:

You want to be treated like a human instead of number then aim for a smaller mom and pop type company. You aren't going to get good miles and home time. You need to choose one or the other. Usually the good miles are given to those who want to stay out and make money. Those who want to be home all the time are kept within range of their hometown and get stuck loading and unloading trailers of the drivers who want to stay out.

You can get good miles and constant runs as long as you aren't a dumb@$$! You still will get crappy miles and crappy runs from time to time and sometimes even consecutively but that's what you need to do to climb the ladder. Your number one key to success is your dispatcher. Make sure to have a good relationship with your dispatcher and do whatever they tell you without question! (not as easy as it sounds either) In the same breath, don't be bothersome to your DM. They have too much going on and love a driver that is as self-proficient as possible. If company policy allows, do as much of their legwork as possible. ie; calling customers, scheduling loads, keeping up on hour re-caps etc...

You seriously need to re-think the whole logbook lying scheme! Something like that is right on par with drinking a beer while driving or smoking a joint at the pickle-park!
