My other point is: Why let some self appointed "expert" convince you that a successful lease purchase is impossible. Going into business for yourself is a gamble. Trucking is a rough game. A successful lease purchase will establish your commercial credit rating. From there you can invest into purchase of a new or newer truck, getting your own authority--- what ever YOU desire as your goal in trucking. I ran the '59 Pete in my avatar from 1984 until 1991. I operated under my own PUC authority in the state of calif. I drove , maintained my truck, did billing and collection and kept records for tax purposes. It was a lot of work. It took all my time. I found it more profitable to be leased to the company and l could have some time for a life outside of work. Good luck with your choice.

Any good ones out there for doing a lease purchase ? Preferably on a Volvo 780. I've got two years experience here in the states and fifteen in Europe. Or am I better off going to a dealership and lease from there ?

I did a LP with Dart. Bought my truck and paid $1000 for about 42 months. Worked great for me due to the inexpensive payments. I sold the truck and when i went to get another it was $1900 a month. So i went to Lone Mountain and bought a truck now I'm at Landstar. If you can afford to buys your truck don't tie it with the company. You make twice as much money and you have the liberty to go where you wish. The companys that hire o/o treat you better cause they don't want you to leave. The LP drivers have to put up with a different perspective from dispatch. Good luck
