Title says it all. I live 75 miles north of St. Louis in Illinois. I have pulled van, Flatbed, hopper, tanker ( both pnuematic and smooth bore liquid ) and even a frameless end dump.
My experience is what seems to bee killing me though. I was with my previous company for over 10 years and worked in the office for them for the last five years before i finally walked out.
Before I was in the office it was all over the road work and my current company is over the road but I have only been here for 9 months. I have no tickets, accidents, a CSA score of 0 and I can prove that while I worked in the office I drove some locally after my shift.
My current job just can't keep me busy enough and has me home every weekend and through the house at least 1 night a week. So it would seem I am at a salary cap of $800 wk gross or less and it just doesn't seem worth my time.
I have never been west of New Mexico so I have no west coast experience.
What I'm looking for:
No NYC!!! I spent the first 2 years of my driving career there every Monday or Friday and didn't leave anything there when I quit going.
I cannot currently go to Canada due to a child support issue. And that is my only issue. ( No drugs, or Dui's I'm clean )
I like being home on the weekends but I have no problem staying out 2 weeks # a time.
Would prefer a smaller company with little or no drop and hooks. ( don't like having to repair seat meat mistakes )
Also I do not want a e-log. ( I will cross that bridge when it gets mandated )
And as far as equipment goes I would prefer a flatbed but I'm not affraid to pull any type of trailer. And I will not drive a Mack truck. ( Long story but no I wont even consider it. )
Oh yeah I hate LTL. 1 or 2 drops is ok now and then but more than that not interested especially on a flatbed.
So any help would be appreciated and If you currently work for such company I will put your name on the app for the referral bonus.

Have you ever looked at Riechmann? They're on Chain of Rocks Road in Granite City. Going south on Rt. 3, go under I-270 to the light. You'll see a Waffle House to the left at the intersection. Turn RIGHT. It's the yard just past the huge lot on the corner (on your right). You can't miss it. Heard that before, haven't you? At any rate, I worked there several years ago and made pretty good money with them. It was a percentage pay. Anyway, it's flatbed and they also do some over-dimensional/heavy haul if you're into that. You can get home MOST weekends or stay out if you want. Anyway, it's a suggestion. Hansen (H trucking) is also there....just turn left at the light instead of right....then down on your right...another flatbed outfit.

You might try B. Carlson Trucking out of Galesburg IL. Flatbed/Stepdeck company. Percentage pay. Quite a bit of drop and hook on the outboud end,but they really keep the trailers in good condtion. Ive never had a problem with a trailer, ever. There are also some multi stop loads but plenty of time and it adds up on the paycheck too. Multistop loads are generally machinery. They are fairly small and treat you good too. Lots of long time drivers there, Im talking ten years plus. Also very little tarping and when you do its 4ft drops. Any other questions PM me. And we are busy too!

You're in a good location for E.L.Henderson out of Salem, Il. Reefer company and they always end up back in St.Louis area. I heard they are opening up a yard near Troy, Il.
