About your long drill bit idea to make a starter hole...
Have you ever seen a flexible drill bit extension?

    I think I saw em on homedepot.com.

Just not sure how it would work. Needs to go in about 24 inches then up probably around 9+ inches. Depending on the dead weight.

    1) 50' or 100' power cord and an electric 800w heat gun they use to strip decals or paint with. Small focused heat area that works good on valves. You just have to find an outlet within cord range.
    2) Make 2 small ramps by taking one piece of wood 2" x 8" x 2'6" and another 2" x 8" x 3' and cut the ends off at a 45° angle. Center the shorter one on top of the longer one and nail together. Then make another one just like that. 2 ramps that go under your tandems at night to raise the back end of the trailer about 3 1/2 inches.

I have a 50' cord that should reach.
I've been trying to find one of them radiant type heaters 2 feet wide. Or so. But those types don't seem to exist anymore. Or element heats. Whatever they're called.

Walmart has one burner stove that mounts on a bottle as a leg. I bought 2 of them to try. I have buckets to use as risers that should put the burners pretty close to the valves. And it don't look like the flame needs to be full on to produce the heat needed for thawing. A slow burn should work nicely and make the bottles last a few hours.

Nestle recycles cardboard like crazy. I can cut one up to fit the trailer nicely and act as a blanket to trap the heat. Hopefully the cardboard don't burn up.

I"m thinking the 4x4 dunnage should work. Gives me an 8" rise.
