Hello there, I was at a trucking school and I failed my test twice. The school wants me to pay an exorbitant fee but I figure I should look around first to see what I can find. This is the first place I had to look. Is there anyone with a truck who would be willing to charge me to use their truck for testing? Please respond to this thread so we can make arrangements on the way forward.

No one can let you use their truck..too much regulatory crap and let’s not forget..insurance.
Just pay the school’s fee and get r done..Or find another school with a lower fee to test out in.Yanja9 and brian991219 Thank this. -
What parts of testing are you having trouble with?

Another driver on here had the same issue. He signed up with a trucking company cdl school and was good to go then. He didn't like the idea of attending school again, but it was do that or stay unemployed in trucking.

I failed on skills. I blew the horn before I completed my straight line backing. It was dumb but my nerves were wrecking as hell at the time.tscottme Thanks this.

You failed the entire test from blowing the horn too early? You must've had an ####### examiner
-
You say you failed 2 times. What was the other failiure for? And was there other mistakes?
-
In Georgia the examiners are not CDL holders. They have a detailed set of prescriptions they have to follow. If you touch the brake knob during the leak down test you fail. If you take more than two hours for the entire test you fail. If you use more than two get outs during a backing test you fail. Etc. Etc.
Blowing the horn tells the examiner you have finished a backing test. She will then check your position and you either pass or fail. The examiner doesn't have any discretion.
Some people do get nervous and screw up for what seems like stupid reasons during the test. The guy right before me failed because he couldn't get the low air pressure alarm to come on during the leak down test. He forgot to turn the key on, and just couldn't believe it afterwards.tscottme Thanks this. -
Ask Stevens Transport if you can attend the school in Denver, CO vs. Columbus, GA.
Sometimes they do this. Just say, "I'd really like to go to school in Colorado; might move there some day."Yanja9 Thanks this.
