What school did you go to in Florida?

Keep your license clean from here on out. It's your lively hood now.

I went through a 10 week, 320 hr, 1,000 miles school also back in 2011.

The local yard for the company was right down the street from the school I attended. I rode past it everyday. So any truck I see I look up their company and apply. This one just happened to be a great fit

Good job on getting your cdl and beating the odds getting a local job out the gate. Just keep in mind for the future. Most OTR companies don't count local work as driving experience because your not OTR. So if you make the change you might have to go to a mega.

Nah, most MEGA OTR companies don't count local experience. Smaller companies rely more on personal interaction, the ability to demonstrate safe operation and control of the vehicle, and having the experience in operating the vehicle as required by the insurance carrier. In our case, that's 100,000 miles, so if he drives 300 miles per day as a local driver, he would be eligible to hire for a regional fleet position after 67 weeks of experience, assuming he's driving a 5-day work week (56 week if a 6-day work week).|

Granted, with that MVR, he would likely not get in the door at a place like ours without a few more clean years of safe, violation-free operation.

I dont plan to go to a mega or even a regional position. I have a pregnant wife at home and I need to be close for the time being. However I currently drive 2720 miles a week. So I’ll reach 100,000 miles in about 9 months and some change. I know I need a few more years of clean driving as well experience in a CMV for a lot of positions and eventually I’ll get there. I promised my family I’d keep my nose clean. They’re depending on me
