Try USPS. We are the largest employer of military vets. Normally you need 2 years experience, but I think they give special preference to vets.

When I retired from the USAF a long time ago I Started with Millis Transfer they run thru TN a lot. Got little over a year OTR and moved on to bigger and better things but was a good place to start, decent miles and nice equipment.

I ETS'ed from the Army and went with Melton. They're a mini mega with a 1,000 trucks. I didn't have to spend 8-12 weeks with a trainer. 3.5 weeks my trainer gave the okay and they never questioned it. I was always treated fair and saw 48 states and able to use my GI BILL to supplement my income. Do you have a preference for flatbed, Van, reefer, or tanker? Do you want to be home every weekend?

    Good choice, Abilene Motor Express.

Try Bulkmatic in Hopkinsville. They usually require experience, but a recent post driver said Bulkmatic hired him right out of school. Don't know which terminal that was though.

I can't help you with that.

But you might want to visit this tread, entitled, Military Veterans. Some good articles gets posted on it.

Thanks for serving in our Military Services.
I just served about 4 years in the Air Force, back in the Vietnam Days.

Well gentleman thanks for all the advice, I start with System Transport on Jan 4th. From all my reading it sounds like a good flatbed carrier.

    Chinatown Thanks this.
