I know it pays well. I paid over $700 to get towed 7 miles on 81s in WV. They took me to the state line. Company working the work zone. Cop called it in. I sat there 10 min before he showed up That’s when I saw the light

Be prepared to shovel out the tracks of every piece of equipment you pick up, cause operators are some seriously lazy SOBs. Invest in a good shovel and digging bar.

And also always remember as your shoveling out those tracks that your not making half the money the operator is.

Now, most of my lowboy work was for a construction company, I never shoveled any tracks, but a few times ran out of fuel while I was loading it, that always chapped me to no end. I never got paid less than the operators either.
I drive a gravel rig now and then, and I get just as much or more than any operator on the job in it too.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.
