Ok here is my dilemma, I drove LPD for Overnite Transportation in Tampa, FL 20+ years ago ( raised a family ) now I am back looking to drive OTR ( solo ). I have my CDL class A and orientation offers from: CRST, TransAm, Western Express, and Covenant; waiting on May and US Xpreess to process paperwork. I am looking for advise on which of the six should I consider the strongest to develop my skills and aid me most in my future as a Professional Truck Driver.![]()
Looking for advise on choosing a company!

ever think about trying to get back on with ups freight??? it will remind you of old times.....same trucks you drove years agoRanger_309 Thanks this. -
The only company you listed I know anything about is USX. Personally, I'd never go back there, but some like them. They have autoshifters for the most part, I read somewhere they are getting some manual shifters.
Their trucks are nice for a big fleet. I think any of the companies you listed will get you the OTR experience you want, it just depends on which one you'd be comfortable with, USX just wasn't for me. -
Thank you for the advise, all the companies read about the same, maybe i will get lucky with the one i go to.

Good luck with who ever you wind up with.

I'd work on a new list, based on the research I've done. I don't have any personal experience with any on your list. What about Schneider? With that list, where is Prime? Others with personal experience may offer better information.
