I’m trying to figure out what will work for me in trucking. I worked for tmc for one year otr and really didn’t like the Sunday morning to Friday night get a 34 in and head out type of work. So I got on at a smaller outfit locally and the equipment is junk every day I’m worried about getting a ding on my CDL because of the way they operate and the condition of most trailers and securement. What’s the answer? I’ve looked into something like landstar just don’t currently have my hazmat or a truck. My location is greater Cincinnati area. Called the tmc recruiter they have nothing local or dedicated available now. Feel like it’s a ticking time bomb before I get some sort of violation with the current place I’m at. What do you suggest?

    Think "outside the box".

Trucking offers MANY opportunities -- not just in flatbed.

Pulling "boxes" is really no better.

With that said -- you might check out opportunities in your area with the following carrier:

    www.thekag.com

Consider opportunities in their food.....or specialty products divisions.

Some of their accounts pay surprisingly well.

With a year of flatbed under your belt -- you have enough seat time to qualify with them.
