retake the test.
Find a family member with a CDL that can drive you & the truck to the testing site.
Rent tractor if needed
Take teststarmac Thanks this. -
I like my auto transmission the Detroit DT-12. I think it the future of trucks. I think Freightliner is making it the standard transmission today. Like other said you probably retake the driving test in a manual transmission.

what else did they tell the class, that you're all gonna be making a million dollar a year salaries, home every night, free lunch on the job, and 27 weeks of paid vacations..???
my suggestion to you is, DO NOT recommend THAT school to anyone.D.Tibbitt, starmac, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this. -
There's more local companies then long haul.
Long haul uses autos and manuals.
Locals mostly use manual.
The only reason local would buy an auto. Is because you new breed of truckers can't drive stick.FlaSwampRat, x1Heavy and buddyd157 Thank this. -
A auto only improves fuel economy over a poorly driven manual. A properly driven manual will achieve high fuel economy every time.
FlaSwampRat, tscottme, dwells40 and 2 others Thank this. -
