I don't know 2hen autos came out. But it was years before I got my cdl.

I was working temp jobs when I got out of high school. One job I did was basically a sidekick for a trash hauler. He just had surgery. So I moved the cans for him to pickup with the truck and dump. Then I put em back. This was for businesses. His truck was an auto. And that would have been in the late 80s.

When I started wrenching. In 88. I worked temp for county fire dept. They got a brand new fire engine. Front wheel drive auto. It was a pos that couldn't steer. The engine was in the back.

All the county fire and trash trucks were auto.

Allison autos have been around furever and a day, and what was probably in those fire engines and trash trucks. Allison is a true auto, not like the auto shifts we have in the big trucks now.

I never thought about it, but the way they work, I bet that is right. It would pay a guy to park on enough incline he could roll on to them without putting it in gear.

53 for the most part ..for you calling me the super trucker you sound like you are trying to steal my title don't you? Lol. Remember....im the super trucker here....
Since you failed with your stabs at not being able to drive in a city and trailer size you should go for my plastic hood Freightliner or the face that I never have had a cb and never will...take the easy shots because your shooting is a lil off today Tex....good luck with the next one lol.

It's honestly not that bad, people make it out to be way worse than what it is. Running a sideloader is a lot of work but we are all on rd pallets so it's a piece of cake.
