Walmart pay is over a 100. UPS is 130+, with the right bid. UPS also has a pension. I would be happy with Walmart. 5 days out 2 days back. I had cameras when I drove for airgas. Uniform is a simple life choice. Less decisions for me. As long as I don't have to unload a trailer wearing one.

At this point I'd take Ilovetequila back.

I have other thoughts, but I'll let the mods relax, and not share them. (You're welcome mods! ;) )

Scratch Big G off your list of potential employers. They run a LOT of I-81 from Tennessee to Maryland and New Jersey. That's been their bread and butter for decades. They're not a terrible company but you'll be a square peg in a round hole again telling them you don't do the east coast.

Walmart's a $110,000 without even trying. There's drivers on a rotating 5/2 then 5/3 making that. I'm on a 5/2 and made a little over a $130,000 with them last year. All short runs and multi-stops though and had to wear a uniform. I ran about 75,000 miles last year.

I dont even care wherever hires me next is a temp gig anyway 3 months tops and getting marked as a temp agency anyway, gonna eat 1 meal a day and save the rest of the money , im not even bringing a suitcase worth of stuff, I'll see if I can go get my hazmat endorsement if they pay me enough then hire on with Groendyke/Heniff, if not I'll hop to IRT when they finally will hire since EW is off the table demanding 1 year with prior company

I ran enough Walmart freight to know i hated them and anything multistop/store delivery, expected to run 500 miles a day and have 5 stops at 2 hours a piece then want you to help unload? Nah that was a hard pass Arkansas/Texas walmarts literally gave me hatred for Walmart as a company not to mention the reefer completely died on me several times with Walmart freight, they dont maintain their equipment

I also hauled UPS loads a few times out of DFW airport which was a hoodlum shop, they had no clue what they were doing, yard was so packed you couldn't back anywhere and yard dog was too lazy to do his job

Out of all the major companies that require "uniforms" id only run with XPO(which discontinued uniform requirement for teams according to a friend in have working for em in Texas) and Highway Transport

I know a lot of hazmat tanks require PPE but thats a given and doesnt bother me, im not really one for rocking what I like to call a simp suit, we dont get paid enough to wear a uniform full time, most of us try to get away from your typical 9-5 job things like uniforms

Walmart drivers don't unload freight. We don't even open doors. Got people to do that for us lol. And the maintenance is hands down first class top notch. Everything is kept up like new. But at DC's where outside carriers maintain the reefers maintenance is lacking. Marten, Werner, etc they don't do a good job maintaining the reefers like they're supposed to.

No way you were working a Walmart account with a carrier and unloading the freight. Quit making up stories. Drivers don't touch the freight not even the outside carrier drivers.

And nobody expects "x" number of stops out of you there in 500 miles or whatever. You run at your own pace. I dunno if outside carriers pressure their drivers or not but I doubt it. You don't have to push there to make money.
