New CDL permitee here...hoping to make a career hauling cars. Question: A car haulin' trucker recently showed me a website that listed hundreds and hundreds of car hauling jobs that owner/operators could pick and choose jobs from. Does anyone know of this website? Thanks much.

Google 'autohaulers' and 'auto haulers' -- there's a ton of 'em.

Are you looking to be an O/O or a company driver? Car hauling companies don't typically hire new drivers as a matter of fact they are a little shaky about hiring a very experienced driver with no car hauling experience. Something as simple as turning into a location has to be a well thought-out plan when you driving something that is less than 6 inches off the ground 75 feet long 14 feet tall with a 3 feet long overhang off the front and 4 feet off the rear. I wish you luck and if you need advise about hauling cars let me know.

Speaking of.... I am about to start school next week and am going OTR for a year. I just quit a wrecker company after a year. Will the car haulers like to see my wrecker experience or will it even matter to them?

It won't matter much because of the vast difference. The only similarity is that you moved a car from one point to another. Don't let what I say stop you from looking you may find a company out there that will take you on. Just remember that a truck driver will say 3 inches is close but a car hauler will say 3 inches is all sorts of room. Which one are you?

There's a website called CENTRAL DISPATCH, but that's a site where cars that need to be moved are posted on, no jobs on there.
